We met up with our next tour guide Ashley, who was so kind enough to fetch us at Gwang Hwa moon bus station . Our first stop was Gwang Hwa Moon plaza which is located in the central road of the Seoul, South Korea. Gwang Hwa Moon plaza is located in front of Kyung Bok Palace. At the entrance of the Gwang Hwa Moon plaza there are statue of Sae Jong Dae Wang(who is the third king of Cho Sun Empirer and invented language of Korean), and Sun Shin Lee(the most famous general during Cho Sun Empirer) In the center of the plaza, there are art gallery, cultural history displays, and galleries.
Walk from Changdeokgung Palace to Insa-dong
This is a map prepared by our ever reliable guide, Ashley. It shows the geographic diagram of Gwang Hwa moon area. We could easily find Kyungbook Goong as we get off from Subway Line 3, Anguk Station, and go out of exit 3. The walk from Kyungbook Goong to Insa-dong only takes between 5 to 10 minutes. We had shopping on our minds for our last day in Seoul, however we ended up buying only souvenirs for family and friends. I also found an unexpected pleasures on street when I got intrigued by the pushcarts of street foods.
Kkochi eomuk, or skewered fish cake, is a favorite snack in the winter. A broad, flat eomuk (fish cake) is placed on a skewer and boiled in a thin broth. Tteokbokki is the most popular street food in Korea, and also one of the highly recommended street foods by my students. Sweet and spicy, it is such a popular snack that you will find it on every busy street corner |
